International Development
ILSI links labour migration to national development, turning remittances and returnee skills into responsible investment through the Nepal pilot.
Labour migration moves more than workers — it moves remittances, skills, and networks that can drive national development if they are channelled deliberately. ILSI's development pillar exists to make that channelling deliberate rather than accidental.
Our approach
We publish corridor-level masterplans that set out how a labour corridor can be made safer and more developmental over time, and we are proving the model through the Nepal pilot, delivered with a network of implementation partners. Our responsible investment work helps returnee workers and their families put savings and remittances into vetted, productive local investment rather than informal or high-risk schemes.
Development finance institutions, diaspora investment funds and impact investors interested in co-financing corridor programmes can review our investment pipeline for upcoming opportunities.
