ILSI — International Legal Support and Investment

Find a Lawyer and Translator

ILSI will provide a vetted lawyer and translator in your destination country for formal legal representation in wage, injury, immigration, or criminal cases.

ILSI caseworkers will guide you and advocate on your behalf, but some situations may need a licensed lawyer who can formally represent you — in a labour tribunal, a criminal case, or a serious injury compensation claim. This directory lists lawyers ILSI has reviewed for relevant experience with migrant worker cases in each corridor.

When you may need a lawyer

  • A wage dispute that your employer refuses to resolve after a formal complaint — see not been paid.
  • A serious workplace injury with a disputed compensation claim — see injured at work.
  • Detention, arrest, or criminal charges — see detained or arrested.
  • Recovering money lost to a fraudulent recruiter — see report a recruiter.

How this directory works

Lawyers listed here have been reviewed by ILSI for relevant experience and a track record of acting for migrant workers, not for employers or recruitment agencies, in the listed corridor. ILSI does not receive any referral fee from listed lawyers.

Search the directory below by country and area of law. If you are an ILSI member, your caseworker can also make a direct referral for you.

The cost of legal representation and translation

ILSI will cover all legal costs for the migrant worker who has a registered paid-up membership with ILSI.

Working with your ILSI caseworker and your lawyer together

A lawyer represents your legal interests formally; your ILSI caseworker continues to support you practically alongside that representation, for example by helping coordinate with your embassy or family. The two roles work best together, with your consent to share relevant information between them.

If you cannot find a lawyer for your country listed

Directory coverage is expanding as ILSI's corridors grow. If your destination country or specific legal issue is not yet listed, contact the ILSI helpline directly and a caseworker will help identify appropriate legal representation for your situation, drawing on ILSI's wider network of contacts in each corridor.
