Securing Injury Compensation After a Construction Site Accident in Saudi Arabia

A construction worker injured in a fall in Riyadh received medical treatment and compensation after ILSI's legal panel supported his claim through the correct process.

A worker, 34, from Dhading was working on a construction site in Riyadh when he fell from scaffolding, fracturing his arm and requiring surgery. His employer arranged initial hospital treatment, but he was unsure what he was entitled to afterward, including whether he would be paid during his recovery or receive any compensation for the injury. He contacted ILSI's Riyadh-area helpline from his hospital bed after another Nepali worker in his ward, also an ILSI member, suggested he call. A caseworker first confirmed his injury had been properly documented by the treating hospital, which is an important step for any later claim, and then explained the general process for workplace injury compensation under applicable Saudi labour regulations. ILSI's legal panel lawyer in Riyadh reviewed his medical documentation and employment contract, and helped him submit a formal compensation claim covering his medical costs and lost income during recovery. The lawyer also liaised with his employer directly to confirm the company's own obligations were being met alongside the formal claim, since compensation processes in this corridor can otherwise take considerable time to resolve without active follow-up.
